Contaminated soil
New South Wales N120: identify the controlled waste or other contaminant that makes the soil fit this entry.
Is NSW N120 hazardous waste?
Not from the code alone. N120 marks a waste that may need tracking. Tracking under Part 4 needs a matching Schedule 1 waste description and a Part 3 hazardous characteristic. That test is separate from the NSW disposal classification, and the code gives no disposal class. Part 4 covers local and interstate movements.
Where tracking applies, enter N120 in the waste-code field of the IWTS Movement, with the description, quantity, parties and the receiver's Movement Authorisation. The approved system issues the Movement reference. NSW tracking exemptions still apply.
What does NSW N120 cover?
