New South Wales
Triethylamine foundry-sand catalyst
New South Wales M230: triethylamine is the catalyst used to harden sand moulds in foundries.
Is NSW M230 hazardous waste?
Not from the code alone. M230 marks a waste that may need tracking. Tracking under Part 4 needs a matching Schedule 1 waste description and a Part 3 hazardous characteristic. That test is separate from the NSW disposal classification, and the code gives no disposal class. Part 4 covers local and interstate movements.
Where tracking applies, enter M230 in the waste-code field of the IWTS Movement, with the description, quantity, parties and the receiver's Movement Authorisation. The approved system issues the Movement reference. NSW tracking exemptions still apply.
What does NSW M230 cover?
