M180, Polychlorinated dioxins.
Northern Territory
Polychlorinated dioxins
Northern Territory M180: A congener is one chemical variant in the dioxin group; any variant is included.
Is NT M180 hazardous waste?
Not from the code alone. The code is an administrative description, not the statutory listed-waste test. NT licensing for listed-waste activities generally covers commercial work or services done for a fee. So the waste, the activity and the licence conditions all matter.
Every controlled-waste movement into or out of the NT needs a consignment authorisation and Waste Transfer Certificate. The certificate's waste-code field takes the accepted code with a description. The November 2024 guide makes online tracking within the NT voluntary, but licensed operators still keep records and report volumes under their licence conditions.
For a controlled border movement, enter the accepted code in the certificate's waste-code field. Then check the NT code currency and movement rules.
What does NT M180 cover?
Any congener of polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxin. It takes every chemical variant in the dioxin group, not a named few.

The older table helps you recognise a description. It doesn't show that the portal accepts the code today, or what an operator's licence now says. Get the movement approval before dispatch.
