Lead and lead compounds
Queensland D220 has no marked precedence when several descriptions fit.
Is Queensland D220 hazardous waste?
Not from the code alone. D220 is a Schedule 11 trackable-waste description. A load is tracked while the commercial or industrial waste stays regulated under section 42. Check the Schedule 9 exclusions and the section 42(4) test-out route first, as they decide whether a movement is trackable. D220 has no precedence mark when several descriptions fit.
For a tracked load, enter D220 in the waste-code field of the Queensland waste transport certificate. The generator fills in Part 1, the transporter Part 2 and the receiver Part 3. Lodge it online, by bulk upload or on numbered paper, whichever route is approved. The Queensland exclusions still apply.
What does Queensland D220 cover?
Lead metal and lead compounds both fall here. The entry covers the element as well as its compounds, whatever the compound or process.

Is lead waste always Queensland D220?
| Code | When it fits |
|---|---|
| D220 | The waste holds lead metal or a lead compound. |
Where several descriptions fit, an asterisk in Queensland's tracking list decides which takes precedence. It is not an EWC hazardous-waste marker. A resource must meet its end-of-waste code or approval conditions before it leaves the waste regime.
Which wastes take Queensland D220?
| Waste | When it’s D220 |
|---|---|
| Lead compound waste | Analysis or process knowledge shows the discarded material holds a lead compound. |
| Lead paint waste | The debris or residue holds lead from stripped or removed paint. |
