Selenium and selenium compounds
Queensland D240 has no marked precedence when several descriptions fit.
Is Queensland D240 hazardous waste?
Not from the code alone. D240 is a Schedule 11 trackable-waste description. A load is tracked while the commercial or industrial waste stays regulated under section 42. Check the Schedule 9 exclusions and the section 42(4) test-out route first, as they decide whether a movement is trackable. D240 has no precedence mark when several descriptions fit.
For a tracked load, enter D240 in the waste-code field of the Queensland waste transport certificate. The generator fills in Part 1, the transporter Part 2 and the receiver Part 3. Lodge it online, by bulk upload or on numbered paper, whichever route is approved. The Queensland exclusions still apply.
What does Queensland D240 cover?
Selenium metal and selenium compounds both fall here. The entry covers the element as well as its compounds, whatever the compound or process.

Is selenium waste always Queensland D240?
| Code | When it fits |
|---|---|
| D240 | The waste holds selenium or a selenium compound. |
Where several descriptions fit, an asterisk in Queensland's tracking list decides which takes precedence. It is not an EWC hazardous-waste marker. A resource must meet its end-of-waste code or approval conditions before it leaves the waste regime.
Which wastes take Queensland D240?
