Cadmium and cadmium compounds
WA category D150; load type and road-transport rules decide whether a tracking form follows.
Is WA D150 hazardous waste?
Not from the code alone. D150 is a WA controlled-waste category. Regulation 3 covers industrial, commercial, medical, laboratory and sewage-treatment waste. Domestic waste is outside it. Waste that a Class I, II or III landfill can lawfully accept is excluded, apart from specified exceptions such as asbestos, tyres and clinical waste.
For a tracked load, enter D150 in the controlled-waste category field on the DWER tracking form. DWER issues the number. The authorised carrier or driver records collection and transport, and the receiving facility closes the record. Record the holder, amount, containment and destination. The WA load thresholds and exclusions still apply.
What does WA D150 cover?
Cadmium metal and cadmium compounds fall here. That includes the element itself, not just one named compound or process.

Is cadmium waste WA D150 or WA D151?
| Code | When it fits |
|---|---|
| D150 | The waste holds cadmium metal or a cadmium compound. |
| D151 | The discarded material is a used nickel-cadmium battery. |
Landfill acceptance turns on the landfill criteria, not on how the waste looks. A category number and a dangerous goods class answer different questions.
