Chromium-bearing tannery waste
Western Australia D141: use the tannery-specific entry when chromium is present; compare K140 where it is absent.
Is WA D141 hazardous waste?
Not from the code alone. D141 is a WA controlled-waste category. Regulation 3 takes in industrial, commercial, medical, laboratory and sewage-treatment waste and leaves out domestic waste. It also excludes waste that a Class I, II or III landfill can lawfully accept, with set exceptions that include asbestos, tyres and clinical waste.
Where WA road tracking applies, enter D141 in the controlled-waste category field on the DWER tracking form. DWER issues the number. The authorised carrier or driver records collection and transport, and the receiving facility closes the record. Record the holder, amount, containment and destination. The WA load thresholds and exclusions still apply.
What does WA D141 cover?
Tannery waste that contains chromium. WA keeps this entry apart from K140, tannery waste with no chromium.

| D141 | The waste came from tannery operations and contains chromium. |
| K140 | The tannery residue contains no chromium. |
| D140 | The chromium waste does not come from the tannery process named by D141. |
