    Thallium and thallium compounds

WA category D180; load type and road-transport rules decide whether a tracking form follows.

Thallium and thallium compounds. In WA, a tracking form depends on load type and road-transport rules.

Is WA D180 hazardous waste?

Not from the code alone. D180 is a WA controlled-waste category. Regulation 3 covers industrial, commercial, medical, laboratory and sewage-treatment waste. Domestic waste is outside it. Waste that a Class I, II or III landfill can lawfully accept is excluded, apart from specified exceptions such as asbestos, tyres and clinical waste.

For a tracked load, enter D180 in the controlled-waste category field on the DWER tracking form. DWER issues the number. The authorised carrier or driver records collection and transport, and the receiving facility closes the record. Record the holder, amount, containment and destination. The WA load thresholds and exclusions still apply.

What does WA D180 cover?

Elemental thallium and thallium compounds fall here. That includes the element itself, not just one named compound or process.
