PCB, PCN, PCT or PBB material

New South Wales M100: PCB, PCN and PCT are polychlorinated biphenyls, naphthalenes and terphenyls; PBB is polybrominated biphenyl.

Materials & articles holding or soiled with polychlorinated or polybrominated biphenyls, naphthalenes or terphenyls.

Is NSW M100 hazardous waste?

Not from the code alone. M100 marks waste that may need tracking. Part 4 requires a matching Schedule 1 waste description and a Part 3 hazardous characteristic. That is a tracking test, not the NSW disposal classification, and the code gives no disposal class. Part 4 covers local and interstate movements.

Where Part 4 tracking applies, enter M100 in the waste-code field of the IWTS Movement, with the description, quantity, parties and the receiver's applicable Movement Authorisation. The approved system issues the Movement reference. The NSW tracking exemptions still apply.

What does NSW M100 cover?

Discarded substances or articles that contain, or are contaminated by, PCB, PCN, PCT or PBB compounds. Contamination counts as well as content.
