K190, Wool-scouring waste.
New South Wales
Wool-scouring waste
New South Wales K190: wool scouring is the industrial washing of raw wool.
Is NSW K190 hazardous waste?
Not from the code alone. K190 marks waste that may need tracking. Part 4 requires a matching Schedule 1 waste description and a Part 3 hazardous characteristic. That is a tracking test, not the NSW disposal classification, and the code gives no disposal class. Part 4 covers local and interstate movements.
Where Part 4 tracking applies, enter K190 in the waste-code field of the IWTS Movement, with the description, quantity, parties and the receiver's applicable Movement Authorisation. The approved system issues the Movement reference. The NSW tracking exemptions still apply.
What does NSW K190 cover?
Effluent, sludge and other residue from cleaning wool. The source process sets it apart from animal processing waste and from unrelated grease or wastewater.
