Inorganic cyanides
Northern Territory A130: use for inorganic cyanide itself, rather than a cyanide-bearing process waste.
Is NT A130 hazardous waste?
Not from the code alone. This is an administrative waste code, not the current statutory listed-waste test. NT licensing for listed-waste activities generally covers commercial activity or services for a fee. The waste, the activity and the licence conditions all matter.
Every controlled-waste movement into or out of the NT needs a consignment authorisation and Waste Transfer Certificate. Its waste-code field takes the accepted administrative code with a description. The November 2024 guide makes online tracking within the NT voluntary, but licensed operators still keep records and report volumes under their licence conditions.
For a controlled border movement, enter the accepted code in the Waste Transfer Certificate's waste-code field. Check NT code currency and movement rules.
What does NT A130 cover?
Inorganic cyanides, when the waste is classed by that chemical content and no more specific cyanide-process entry fits. The code doesn't take in every waste from a cyanide process.

The older table helps identify a description, but it doesn't show what the portal accepts today or an operator's current licence conditions. Get the movement approval before dispatch.
