K110, Grease-trap waste.
Northern Territory
Grease-trap waste
NT 2013 table entry K110; confirm that the current system still accepts it before use.
Is NT K110 hazardous waste?
Not from the code alone. The code is an administrative description, not the statutory listed-waste test. NT licensing for listed-waste activities generally covers commercial work or services done for a fee. So the waste, the activity and the licence conditions all matter.
Every controlled-waste movement into or out of the NT needs a consignment authorisation and Waste Transfer Certificate. The certificate's waste-code field takes the accepted code with a description. The November 2024 guide makes online tracking within the NT voluntary, but licensed operators still keep records and report volumes under their licence conditions.
For a controlled border movement, enter the accepted code in the certificate's waste-code field. Then check the NT code currency and movement rules.
What does NT K110 cover?
Waste removed from a grease trap goes here, including what the trap held while it worked. The grease trap itself is the source, not any liquid waste that happens to contain grease.

Is grease-trap waste always NT K110?
| Code | When it fits |
|---|---|
| K110 | The waste was removed from a grease trap or grease interceptor. |
The older table helps you recognise a description. It doesn't show that the portal accepts the code today, or what an operator's licence now says. Get the movement approval before dispatch.
