Animal-processing effluent and residue
NT 2013 table entry K100; confirm that the current system still accepts it before use.
Is NT K100 hazardous waste?
Not from the code alone. The code is an administrative description, not the statutory listed-waste test. NT licensing for listed-waste activities generally covers commercial work or services done for a fee. So the waste, the activity and the licence conditions all matter.
Every controlled-waste movement into or out of the NT needs a consignment authorisation and Waste Transfer Certificate. The certificate's waste-code field takes the accepted code with a description. The November 2024 guide makes online tracking within the NT voluntary, but licensed operators still keep records and report volumes under their licence conditions.
For a controlled border movement, enter the accepted code in the certificate's waste-code field. Then check the NT code currency and movement rules.
What does NT K100 cover?
Effluent and residue from animal processing go here, including abattoir, poultry and fish waste. The source decides it, so liquid and residual material both fit and no concentration threshold applies.

Is abattoir and fish-plant waste NT K100?
| Code | When it fits |
|---|---|
| K100 | The effluent or residue came from an abattoir, a poultry or fish plant or another animal-processing operation. |
The older table helps you recognise a description. It doesn't show that the portal accepts the code today, or what an operator's licence now says. Get the movement approval before dispatch.
