Filter cake (solids left after filtration)
NT 2013 table entry N190; confirm that the current system still accepts it before use.
Is NT N190 hazardous waste?
Not from the code alone. The code is an administrative description, not the statutory listed-waste test. NT licensing for listed-waste activities generally covers commercial work or services done for a fee. So the waste, the activity and the licence conditions all matter.
Every controlled-waste movement into or out of the NT needs a consignment authorisation and Waste Transfer Certificate. The certificate's waste-code field takes the accepted code with a description. The November 2024 guide makes online tracking within the NT voluntary, but licensed operators still keep records and report volumes under their licence conditions.
For a controlled border movement, enter the accepted code in the certificate's waste-code field. Then check the NT code currency and movement rules.
What does NT N190 cover?
Solid filter cake left after a liquid or slurry is filtered. Both its form and its process matter, since it is the solid cake held back by the filter.
