    Clinical and related waste

NT 2013 table entry R100; confirm that the current system still accepts it before use.

NT controlled waste for clinical & related waste. Sharps, dressings & infectious material from hospitals, clinics & surgeries.

Is NT R100 hazardous waste?

Not from the code alone. The code is an administrative description, not the statutory listed-waste test. NT licensing for listed-waste activities generally covers commercial work or services done for a fee. So the waste, the activity and the licence conditions all matter.

Every controlled-waste movement into or out of the NT needs a consignment authorisation and Waste Transfer Certificate. The certificate's waste-code field takes the accepted code with a description. The November 2024 guide makes online tracking within the NT voluntary, but licensed operators still keep records and report volumes under their licence conditions.

For a controlled border movement, enter the accepted code in the certificate's waste-code field. Then check the NT code currency and movement rules.

What does NT R100 cover?

Clinical and related wastes. The Northern Territory’s clinical-waste definition decides which healthcare streams count as related waste. The label alone names no material or treatment.
