Inorganic cyanides
Tasmania A130: use for inorganic cyanide itself, rather than a cyanide-bearing process waste.
Is Tasmania A130 hazardous waste?
Not from the code alone. For national-list categories, Tasmania requires a listed hazardous characteristic as well as the waste description. The characteristic is presumed unless shown otherwise. Tasmania also sets extra controlled wastes of its own, so read the category and the local rules together.
Put A130 with the specific waste description in the controlled-waste consignment documentation. Record the producer, quantity, form, contaminants, registered transporter and receiver. An incoming interstate controlled load needs EPA Tasmania's consignment authorisation, and another state's certificate doesn't authorise the receiving facility. Apply the Tasmanian handling and transport rules.
What does Tasmania A130 cover?
Inorganic cyanides, when the waste is classified by that chemical content and no more specific cyanide process entry fits. It doesn't extend to every cyanide-bearing process waste.

Is inorganic cyanide waste Tasmania A130 or another code?
| Code | When it fits |
|---|---|
| A130 | The waste contains an inorganic cyanide and no listed cyanide process category better describes its origin. |
Work out the material and where it came from, then apply Tasmania's characteristic and approval rules. The number alone doesn't permit you to transport, reuse or dispose of the load.
Which wastes take Tasmania A130?
| Waste | When it’s A130 |
|---|---|
| Inorganic cyanides | The material is inorganic cyanide, not residue from a named cyanide process. |
