Acidic liquids and solid acids
Tasmania B100: the material may be an acidic liquid or an acid in solid form.
Is Tasmania B100 hazardous waste?
Not from the code alone. For national-list categories, Tasmania requires a listed hazardous characteristic as well as the waste description. The characteristic is presumed unless shown otherwise. Tasmania also sets extra controlled wastes of its own, so read the category and the local rules together.
Put B100 with the specific waste description in the controlled-waste consignment documentation. Record the producer, quantity, form, contaminants, registered transporter and receiver. An incoming interstate controlled load needs EPA Tasmania's consignment authorisation, and another state's certificate doesn't authorise the receiving facility. Apply the Tasmanian handling and transport rules.
What does Tasmania B100 cover?
Acidic solutions and solid acids. The entry covers both forms and sets no universal pH boundary. Victoria has a separate B100 pair with its own pH threshold.

Is acidic liquid or solid acid Tasmania B100 or C100?
| Code | When it fits |
|---|---|
| B100 | The waste is an acidic solution or an acid in solid form. |
| C100 | The waste is alkaline or a solid alkali rather than acidic. |
Work out the material and where it came from, then apply Tasmania's characteristic and approval rules. The number alone doesn't permit you to transport, reuse or dispose of the load.
