Explosive waste
Western Australia E120: use only where another explosives law does not already govern the material.
Is WA E120 hazardous waste?
Not from the code alone. E120 is a WA controlled-waste category. Regulation 3 covers industrial, commercial, medical, laboratory and sewage-treatment waste. Domestic waste is outside it. Waste that a Class I, II or III landfill can lawfully accept is excluded, apart from specified exceptions such as asbestos, tyres and clinical waste.
For a tracked load, enter E120 in the controlled-waste category field on the DWER tracking form. DWER issues the number. The authorised carrier or driver records collection and transport, and the receiving facility closes the record. Record the holder, amount, containment and destination. The WA load thresholds and exclusions still apply.
What does WA E120 cover?
Explosive waste falls here when separate explosives legislation doesn't govern it. That carve-out is part of the category.
