Water-based paint, ink and dye process waste

Western Australia F100: use this water-based entry; solvent-based coating and colourant waste belongs under F120.

WA waste code for water-based waste from inks, dyes, pigments, paints, lacquers & varnish. Solvent-based waste goes to F120.

Is WA F100 hazardous waste?

Not from the code alone. F100 is a WA controlled-waste category. Regulation 3 covers industrial, commercial, medical, laboratory and sewage-treatment waste. Domestic waste is outside it. Waste that a Class I, II or III landfill can lawfully accept is excluded, apart from specified exceptions such as asbestos, tyres and clinical waste.

For a tracked load, enter F100 in the controlled-waste category field on the DWER tracking form. DWER issues the number. The authorised carrier or driver records collection and transport, and the receiving facility closes the record. Record the holder, amount, containment and destination. The WA load thresholds and exclusions still apply.

What does WA F100 cover?

Water-based waste from making, formulating or using paint, lacquer, varnish, ink, dye or pigment falls here. The water base separates it from solvent-based F120.
