Acidic liquids and solid acids
New South Wales B100: the material may be an acidic liquid or an acid in solid form.
Is NSW B100 hazardous waste?
Not from the code alone. B100 describes waste that may need tracking. Part 4 tracking needs a matching Schedule 1 waste description and a Part 3 hazardous characteristic. That test is separate from the NSW disposal classification, and the code gives no disposal class. Part 4 covers local and interstate movements.
Where tracking applies, enter B100 in the waste-code field of the IWTS Movement, with the description, quantity, parties and the receiver's Movement Authorisation. The approved system issues the Movement reference. The NSW tracking exemptions still apply.
What does NSW B100 cover?
Acidic solutions and solid acids. Both physical forms are included, with no universal pH boundary. Victoria has a separate B100 pair with its own pH threshold.

| Code | When it fits |
|---|---|
| B100 | The waste is an acidic solution or a solid acid. |
| C100 | The waste is alkaline or a solid alkali, not acidic. |
Match both the waste description and the movement scope. Another state or territory using the same code does not carry NSW's classification or tracking conditions with it.
