D330, Inorganic sulphides.

  • New South Wales

    Inorganic sulphides

NSW D330: within NSW or interstate; the listed hazardous-characteristic test still applies.

Inorganic sulphides such as sodium sulphide, which release toxic hydrogen sulphide gas when acidified.

Is NSW D330 hazardous waste?

Not from the code alone. D330 marks waste that may need tracking. Part 4 requires a matching Schedule 1 waste description and a Part 3 hazardous characteristic. That is a tracking test, not the NSW disposal classification, and the code gives no disposal class. Part 4 covers local and interstate movements.

Where Part 4 tracking applies, enter D330 in the waste-code field of the IWTS Movement, with the description, quantity, parties and the receiver's applicable Movement Authorisation. The approved system issues the Movement reference. The NSW tracking exemptions still apply.

What does NSW D330 cover?

Inorganic sulphides thrown away as waste. The entry names a chemical group, not a process, so it isn't limited to one industrial operation.

Is inorganic sulphide waste NSW D330?

CodeWhen it fits
D330The waste consists of, or contains, inorganic sulphides.

Match both the waste description and the movement scope. The same code used elsewhere doesn't carry NSW's classification or tracking conditions.

Which wastes take NSW D330?

WasteWhen it’s D330
Inorganic sulfidesAnalysis or process knowledge confirms inorganic sulphides in the discarded material.
