Ethers (oxygen-linked organic compounds)
Northern Territory G100: in an ether, one oxygen atom joins two carbon-bearing groups.
Is NT G100 hazardous waste?
Not from the code alone. A waste code here is an administrative description, not the statutory listed-waste test. NT licensing generally controls listed-waste activities that are commercial or done for a fee. The waste, the activity and the licence conditions all matter.
Every controlled-waste movement into or out of the NT needs a consignment authorisation and a Waste Transfer Certificate. Its waste-code field takes the accepted code with a description. The November 2024 guide makes online tracking within the NT voluntary, but licensed operators still keep records and report volumes under their licence conditions. For a controlled border movement, enter the accepted code in that field. Read the NT code currency and movement rules first.
What does NT G100 cover?
Ether waste goes here in the lists that use the narrower G100 description. The chemical separates it from the non-halogenated solvent entry G110 and the halogenated solvent entry G150.
