    Polychlorinated dioxins

Australian Capital Territory M180: A congener is one chemical variant in the dioxin group; any variant is included.

Controlled waste for polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins. Any congener, meaning any chemical variant in the group, is included.

Is ACT M180 hazardous waste?

Not from the code alone. For ACT interstate controls, a waste needs a NEPM Schedule A List 1 category and a List 2 hazardous characteristic. The ACT administrative list prints the code. The NEPM itself doesn't print these A100-style numbers.

For a controlled border movement, put M180 with the waste description on the waste transport certificate. The producer, transporter and receiver each complete their parts. Get ACT EPA's consignment authorisation before bringing controlled waste into the ACT, and record the quantity, form, destination and applicable dangerous goods details.

Check the ACT movement exclusions too.

What does ACT M180 cover?

Any congener of polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxin. It covers every chemical variant in the dioxin group, not just named congeners.

Is polychlorinated dioxins always ACT M180?
