N100, Contaminated containers and drums.
Australian Capital Territory
Contaminated containers and drums
ACT guide entry N100; it supports interstate control and does not settle local disposal approval.
Is ACT N100 hazardous waste?
Not from the code alone. For ACT interstate controls, a waste needs a NEPM Schedule A List 1 category and a List 2 hazardous characteristic. The ACT administrative list prints the code. The NEPM itself doesn't print these A100-style numbers.
For a controlled border movement, put N100 with the waste description on the waste transport certificate. The producer, transporter and receiver each complete their parts. Get ACT EPA's consignment authorisation before bringing controlled waste into the ACT, and record the quantity, form, destination and applicable dangerous goods details.
Check the ACT movement exclusions too.
What does ACT N100 cover?
Drums and other containers contaminated by residue from substances on the ACT’s list. An uncontaminated container is outside this code.

Is contaminated containers and drums always ACT N100?
| Code | When it fits |
|---|---|
| N100 | A container or drum retains residue from waste on the ACT’s list. |
Use the ACT administrative entry for an ACT movement record. A national reporting category with the same number has a different purpose and doesn't set the ACT movement duty.
