    Cyanide heat-treatment waste

Queensland A110: heat treatment or tempering must be the source; surface-treatment waste belongs under A100.

Cyanide waste from hardening or tempering metal in a heat process. Waste from plating & etching is A100.

Is Queensland A110 hazardous waste?

Not from the code alone. A110 is a Schedule 11 trackable-waste description. Tracking applies while the commercial or industrial waste is regulated under section 42. Check the Schedule 9 exclusions and the section 42(4) test-out route before you decide whether a movement is trackable. This code has no precedence mark when several descriptions fit.

For a tracked load, enter A110 as the waste code on the Queensland waste transport certificate. The generator supplies Part 1, the transporter Part 2 and the receiver Part 3. Lodge it by the approved online, bulk-upload or numbered-paper route. The Queensland exclusions still apply.

What does Queensland A110 cover?

Waste from heat treatment or tempering where cyanide is used or the resulting waste contains cyanide, as the list states. Surface-treatment cyanide waste is separate, under A100.

Official wording
waste from a heat treatment or tempering operation that uses cyanides

Is cyanide heat-treatment waste Queensland A110, A100 or A130?

CodeWhen it fits
A110The cyanide-bearing waste arose from heat treatment or tempering.
A100The cyanide waste arose from treating a metal or plastic surface.
A130The waste is classified by inorganic cyanide content, not a named process.

In Queensland's tracking list an asterisk sets precedence when several descriptions fit. It is not an EWC hazardous-waste marker. A resource leaves the waste regime only once it meets its end-of-waste code or approval conditions.
