Explosive waste
Queensland E120: use only where another explosives law does not already govern the material.
Is Queensland E120 hazardous waste?
Not from the code alone. E120 is a Schedule 11 trackable-waste description. A load is tracked while the commercial or industrial waste stays regulated under section 42. Check the Schedule 9 exclusions and the section 42(4) test-out route first, as they decide whether a movement is trackable. E120 has no precedence mark when several descriptions fit.
For a tracked load, enter E120 in the waste-code field of the Queensland waste transport certificate. The generator fills in Part 1, the transporter Part 2 and the receiver Part 3. Lodge it online, by bulk upload or on numbered paper, whichever route is approved. The Queensland exclusions still apply.
What does Queensland E120 cover?
Explosive waste falls here when the separate explosives legislation doesn't govern it. That carve-out is part of the entry.
- Official wording
- waste of an explosive nature, other than an explosive within the meaning of the Explosives Act 1999
- Rule or list
- Environmental Protection Regulation 2019

| Code | When it fits |
|---|---|
| E120 | The waste is explosive in nature and falls outside the separate explosives legislation. |
Where several descriptions fit, an asterisk in Queensland's tracking list decides which takes precedence. It is not an EWC hazardous-waste marker. A resource must meet its end-of-waste code or approval conditions before it leaves the waste regime.
