Triethylamine foundry-sand catalyst
Queensland M230: triethylamine is the catalyst used to harden sand moulds in foundries.
Is Queensland M230 hazardous waste?
Not from the code alone. M230 is a Schedule 11 trackable-waste description. Tracking applies while the commercial or industrial waste stays regulated under section 42. Check the Schedule 9 exclusions and the section 42(4) test-out route before treating a movement as trackable. This code has no precedence mark when several descriptions fit.
For a tracked load, enter M230 as the waste code on the Queensland waste transport certificate. The generator completes Part 1, the transporter Part 2 and the receiver Part 3. Lodge it through an approved online, bulk-upload or numbered-paper route. The Queensland exclusions still apply.
What does Queensland M230 cover?
Triethylamine catalysts used to set sand in foundries. The substance and the process both matter, so the triethylamine must have been used to set foundry sand.
