    Other organic-solvent process waste

Western Australia G160: the manufacture, preparation or use of organic solvents must be the source.

Western Australian waste code for process waste from making, preparing or using organic solvents when no other solvent code fits.

Is WA G160 hazardous waste?

Not from the code alone. G160 is a WA controlled-waste category. Regulation 3 covers industrial, commercial, medical, laboratory and sewage-treatment waste, but not domestic waste. Waste lawfully accepted at a Class I, II or III landfill is excluded, except for specified items including asbestos, tyres and clinical waste.

For a tracked load, enter G160 in the controlled-waste category field on the DWER tracking form. DWER issues the number. The authorised carrier or driver records collection and transport, and the receiving facility closes the record. Record the holder, amount, containment and destination. Road tracking in WA follows the WA load thresholds and exclusions.

What does WA G160 cover?

Process waste from producing, formulating or using organic solvents falls here when no more specific solvent entry fits. It covers the residues of solvent work, not every discarded solvent.

Is solvent process waste WA G160 or another solvent code?

CodeWhen it fits
G160The waste came from producing, formulating or using organic solvents, and no more specific entry fits.

Landfill acceptance depends on the landfill criteria, not on how the waste looks. A category number and a dangerous goods class answer different questions.
