    Perchloroethylene solvent waste

Western Australia G130: use for perchloroethylene from dry cleaning, rather than the residual halogenated-solvent entry.

Western Australian waste code for perchloroethylene wastes from dry cleaning. Other halogenated solvents are separate.

Is WA G130 hazardous waste?

Not from the code alone. G130 is a WA controlled-waste category. Regulation 3 covers industrial, commercial, medical, laboratory and sewage-treatment waste, but not domestic waste. Waste lawfully accepted at a Class I, II or III landfill is excluded, except for specified items including asbestos, tyres and clinical waste.

For a tracked load, enter G130 in the controlled-waste category field on the DWER tracking form. DWER issues the number. The authorised carrier or driver records collection and transport, and the receiving facility closes the record. Record the holder, amount, containment and destination. Road tracking in WA follows the WA load thresholds and exclusions.

What does WA G130 cover?

Dry-cleaning waste that contains perchloroethylene falls here. The WA entry needs both the dry-cleaning source and the solvent, so other halogenated solvent waste doesn't fit.

Is perchloroethylene waste WA G130 or G150?

CodeWhen it fits
G130The waste came from dry cleaning and contains perchloroethylene.
G150The spent halogenated solvent isn't dry-cleaning perchloroethylene.

Landfill acceptance depends on the landfill criteria, not on how the waste looks. A category number and a dangerous goods class answer different questions.
