Western Australia
Halogenated organic solvents
Western Australia G150: use only when no more specific halogenated-solvent entry fits.
Is WA G150 hazardous waste?
Not from the code alone. G150 is a WA controlled-waste category. Regulation 3 covers industrial, commercial, medical, laboratory and sewage-treatment waste, but not domestic waste. Waste lawfully accepted at a Class I, II or III landfill is excluded, except for specified items including asbestos, tyres and clinical waste.
For a tracked load, enter G150 in the controlled-waste category field on the DWER tracking form. DWER issues the number. The authorised carrier or driver records collection and transport, and the receiving facility closes the record. Record the holder, amount, containment and destination. Road tracking in WA follows the WA load thresholds and exclusions.
What does WA G150 cover?
Halogenated organic solvents fall here. Non-halogenated solvents go under G110. WA marks G150 as the halogenated-solvent entry for material not otherwise specified.

Is halogenated solvent WA G150 or G110?
| Code | When it fits |
|---|---|
| G150 | The waste is an organic solvent containing a halogenated compound. |
| G110 | The organic solvent is not halogenated. |
Landfill acceptance depends on the landfill criteria, not on how the waste looks. A category number and a dangerous goods class answer different questions.
Which wastes take WA G150?
| Waste | When it’s G150 |
|---|---|
| Spent solvents | The spent solvent is halogenated. |
| Halogenated solvents | The spent solvent is halogenated. |

| F130 | Solvent-based resin and adhesive waste |
| G100 | Ethers and easily ignited hydrocarbons |
| G130 | Perchloroethylene solvent waste |
