    Phenols and phenolic compounds

Western Australia M150: chlorophenols are included with other phenols where the catalogue says so.

Western Australian waste code for phenols & phenol compounds, including halogenated phenols such as chlorophenols.

Is WA M150 hazardous waste?

Not from the code alone. M150 is a WA controlled-waste category. Regulation 3 covers industrial, commercial, medical, laboratory and sewage-treatment waste, but not domestic waste. Waste lawfully accepted at a Class I, II or III landfill is excluded, except for specified items including asbestos, tyres and clinical waste.

For a tracked load, enter M150 in the controlled-waste category field on the DWER tracking form. DWER issues the number. The authorised carrier or driver records collection and transport, and the receiving facility closes the record. Record the holder, amount, containment and destination. Road tracking in WA follows the WA load thresholds and exclusions.

What does WA M150 cover?

Phenols and phenol compounds fall here, including halogenated ones. Chlorophenols count only where the WA list expressly puts them in this group.
