    PBB, PCN or PCT material

Western Australia M105: PBB means polybrominated biphenyl; PCN and PCT are polychlorinated naphthalene and terphenyl.

Western Australian waste code for PBB, PCN or PCT waste, persistent halogenated chemicals. PCBs have their own code.

Is WA M105 hazardous waste?

Not from the code alone. M105 is a WA controlled-waste category. Regulation 3 covers industrial, commercial, medical, laboratory and sewage-treatment waste, but not domestic waste. Waste lawfully accepted at a Class I, II or III landfill is excluded, except for specified items including asbestos, tyres and clinical waste.

For a tracked load, enter M105 in the controlled-waste category field on the DWER tracking form. DWER issues the number. The authorised carrier or driver records collection and transport, and the receiving facility closes the record. Record the holder, amount, containment and destination. Road tracking in WA follows the WA load thresholds and exclusions.

What does WA M105 cover?

Discarded substances or articles containing PBB, PCN or PCT compounds fall here. WA keeps these 3 groups apart from PCB material, which takes M100.
