Western Australia
Non-halogenated organic chemicals
WA category M130; load type and road-transport rules decide whether a tracking form follows.
Is WA M130 hazardous waste?
Not from the code alone. M130 is a WA controlled-waste category. Regulation 3 covers industrial, commercial, medical, laboratory and sewage-treatment waste, but not domestic waste. Waste lawfully accepted at a Class I, II or III landfill is excluded, except for specified items including asbestos, tyres and clinical waste.
For a tracked load, enter M130 in the controlled-waste category field on the DWER tracking form. DWER issues the number. The authorised carrier or driver records collection and transport, and the receiving facility closes the record. Record the holder, amount, containment and destination. Road tracking in WA follows the WA load thresholds and exclusions.
What does WA M130 cover?
Non-halogenated organic chemicals thrown away as waste fall here. WA describes only the chemistry, with no solvent or concentration condition.

Is non-halogenated organic chemical waste WA M130 or G110?
| Code | When it fits |
|---|---|
| M130 | The organic chemical contains no halogen. |
| G110 | The material is a spent non-halogenated solvent, not another non-halogenated organic chemical. |
Landfill acceptance depends on the landfill criteria, not on how the waste looks. A category number and a dangerous goods class answer different questions.
