Western Australia
Vehicle-wash wastewater
WA category L100; load type and road-transport rules decide whether a tracking form follows.
Is WA L100 hazardous waste?
Not from the code alone. L100 is a WA controlled-waste category. Regulation 3 covers industrial, commercial, medical, laboratory and sewage-treatment waste, but not domestic waste. Waste lawfully accepted at a Class I, II or III landfill is excluded, except for specified items including asbestos, tyres and clinical waste.
For a tracked load, enter L100 in the controlled-waste category field on the DWER tracking form. DWER issues the number. The authorised carrier or driver records collection and transport, and the receiving facility closes the record. Record the holder, amount, containment and destination. Road tracking in WA follows the WA load thresholds and exclusions.
What does WA L100 cover?
Wastewater from washing cars and trucks falls here. The source is vehicle washing, not industrial wash water carrying a controlled-waste contaminant.
