Western Australia
Food and beverage-processing waste
Western Australia K200: the waste must come from processing food or beverages.
Is WA K200 hazardous waste?
Not from the code alone. K200 is a WA controlled-waste category. Regulation 3 covers industrial, commercial, medical, laboratory and sewage-treatment waste, but not domestic waste. Waste lawfully accepted at a Class I, II or III landfill is excluded, except for specified items including asbestos, tyres and clinical waste.
For a tracked load, enter K200 in the controlled-waste category field on the DWER tracking form. DWER issues the number. The authorised carrier or driver records collection and transport, and the receiving facility closes the record. Record the holder, amount, containment and destination. Road tracking in WA follows the WA load thresholds and exclusions.
What does WA K200 cover?
Solid or liquid residue from processing food or beverages falls here in WA. The processing source defines the entry, not a named product or physical form.
