Grease-trap waste
WA category K110; load type and road-transport rules decide whether a tracking form follows.
Is WA K110 hazardous waste?
Not from the code alone. K110 is a WA controlled-waste category. Regulation 3 covers industrial, commercial, medical, laboratory and sewage-treatment waste, but not domestic waste. Waste lawfully accepted at a Class I, II or III landfill is excluded, except for specified items including asbestos, tyres and clinical waste.
For a tracked load, enter K110 in the controlled-waste category field on the DWER tracking form. DWER issues the number. The authorised carrier or driver records collection and transport, and the receiving facility closes the record. Record the holder, amount, containment and destination. Road tracking in WA follows the WA load thresholds and exclusions.
What does WA K110 cover?
Waste removed from a grease trap falls here, including what the trap held during use. The source must be the grease trap itself, not any liquid waste that happens to contain grease.

Is grease-trap waste WA K110 or J130?
| Code | When it fits |
|---|---|
| K110 | The waste was removed from a grease trap or grease interceptor. |
| J130 | The residue came from an oil interceptor, not a grease trap. |
Landfill acceptance depends on the landfill criteria, not on how the waste looks. A category number and a dangerous goods class answer different questions.
