Reticulated sewerage-system waste
Western Australia K130: this is waste from the piped sewer network, rather than a general sludge entry.
Is WA K130 hazardous waste?
Not from the code alone. K130 is a WA controlled-waste category. Regulation 3 covers industrial, commercial, medical, laboratory and sewage-treatment waste, but not domestic waste. Waste lawfully accepted at a Class I, II or III landfill is excluded, except for specified items including asbestos, tyres and clinical waste.
For a tracked load, enter K130 in the controlled-waste category field on the DWER tracking form. DWER issues the number. The authorised carrier or driver records collection and transport, and the receiving facility closes the record. Record the holder, amount, containment and destination. Road tracking in WA follows the WA load thresholds and exclusions.
What does WA K130 cover?
Sewage waste from the reticulated sewerage network falls here in WA. The piped network sets it apart from septage and other on-site wastewater residues.

Is sewer waste WA K130 or K210?
| Code | When it fits |
|---|---|
| K130 | The sewage waste came from the reticulated sewerage system. |
| K210 | The material was pumped from a septic tank or similar on-site sewage system. |
Landfill acceptance depends on the landfill criteria, not on how the waste looks. A category number and a dangerous goods class answer different questions.
