N205, Industrial waste-treatment residue.
Australian Capital Territory
Industrial waste-treatment residue
Australian Capital Territory N205: the residue must come from an industrial waste treatment or disposal operation.
Is ACT N205 hazardous waste?
Not from the code alone. For ACT interstate controls, a waste needs a NEPM Schedule A List 1 category and a List 2 hazardous characteristic. The ACT administrative list prints the code. The NEPM itself doesn't print these A100-style numbers.
For a controlled border movement, put N205 with the waste description on the waste transport certificate. The producer, transporter and receiver each complete their parts. Get ACT EPA's consignment authorisation before bringing controlled waste into the ACT, and record the quantity, form, destination and applicable dangerous goods details.
Check the ACT movement exclusions too.
What does ACT N205 cover?
Residue left by treating or disposing of industrial waste. The treatment or disposal operation defines the category. Coming from an industrial site is not enough.

Is industrial waste-treatment residue always ACT N205?
| Code | When it fits |
|---|---|
| N205 | The residue was produced by an industrial waste treatment or disposal operation. |
Use the ACT administrative entry for an ACT movement record. A national reporting category with the same number has a different purpose and doesn't set the ACT movement duty.
