R100, Clinical and related waste.
Australian Capital Territory
Clinical and related waste
ACT guide entry R100; it supports interstate control and does not settle local disposal approval.
Is ACT R100 hazardous waste?
Not from the code alone. For ACT interstate controls, a waste needs a NEPM Schedule A List 1 category and a List 2 hazardous characteristic. The ACT administrative list prints the code. The NEPM itself doesn't print these A100-style numbers.
For a controlled border movement, put R100 with the waste description on the waste transport certificate. The producer, transporter and receiver each complete their parts. Get ACT EPA's consignment authorisation before bringing controlled waste into the ACT, and record the quantity, form, destination and applicable dangerous goods details.
Check the ACT movement exclusions too.
What does ACT R100 cover?
Clinical and related wastes. The ACT’s clinical-waste definition decides which healthcare streams count as related waste. The label alone names no material or treatment process.

Is clinical and related waste always ACT R100?
| Code | When it fits |
|---|---|
| R100 | The waste meets the ACT’s clinical or related-waste description. |
Use the ACT administrative entry for an ACT movement record. A national reporting category with the same number has a different purpose and doesn't set the ACT movement duty.
