Research, laboratory and teaching chemicals
Australian Capital Territory T100: new, unidentified or effects-unknown chemicals from research or teaching can fall here.
Is ACT T100 hazardous waste?
Not from the code alone. For ACT interstate controls, a waste needs a NEPM Schedule A List 1 category and a List 2 hazardous characteristic. The ACT administrative list prints the code. The NEPM itself doesn't print these A100-style numbers.
For a controlled border movement, put T100 with the waste description on the waste transport certificate. The producer, transporter and receiver each complete their parts. Get ACT EPA's consignment authorisation before bringing controlled waste into the ACT, and record the quantity, form, destination and applicable dangerous goods details.
Check the ACT movement exclusions too.
What does ACT T100 cover?
Chemical material discarded by research, development or teaching. That includes new or unidentified substances and substances with unknown effects on people or the environment.

Is research, laboratory and teaching chemicals always ACT T100?
| Code | When it fits |
|---|---|
| T100 | The chemical waste arose from research, development or teaching activity. |
Use the ACT administrative entry for an ACT movement record. A national reporting category with the same number has a different purpose and doesn't set the ACT movement duty.
Which wastes take ACT T100?
