    Used tyres

Australian Capital Territory T140: check whether the catalogue covers whole tyres, large pieces or a separate local reporting threshold.

Controlled waste for used tyres, from cars & trucks to earthmoving equipment, stockpiled or sent for recycling.

Is ACT T140 hazardous waste?

Not from the code alone. For ACT interstate controls, a waste needs a NEPM Schedule A List 1 category and a List 2 hazardous characteristic. The ACT administrative list prints the code. The NEPM itself doesn't print these A100-style numbers.

For a controlled border movement, put T140 with the waste description on the waste transport certificate. The producer, transporter and receiver each complete their parts. Get ACT EPA's consignment authorisation before bringing controlled waste into the ACT, and record the quantity, form, destination and applicable dangerous goods details.

Check the ACT movement exclusions too.

What does ACT T140 cover?

Discarded tyres. The general tyre description sets no quantity threshold for choosing this code. Local reporting quantities are a separate movement question.

Is used tyres always ACT T140?

CodeWhen it fits
T140The waste is a discarded tyre.

Use the ACT administrative entry for an ACT movement record. A national reporting category with the same number has a different purpose and doesn't set the ACT movement duty.
