N205, Industrial waste-treatment residue.
New South Wales
Industrial waste-treatment residue
New South Wales N205: the residue must come from an industrial waste treatment or disposal operation.
Is NSW N205 hazardous waste?
Not from the code alone. N205 marks a waste that may need tracking. Tracking under Part 4 needs a matching Schedule 1 waste description and a Part 3 hazardous characteristic. That test is separate from the NSW disposal classification, and the code gives no disposal class. Part 4 covers local and interstate movements.
Where tracking applies, enter N205 in the waste-code field of the IWTS Movement, with the description, quantity, parties and the receiver's Movement Authorisation. The approved system issues the Movement reference. NSW tracking exemptions still apply.
What does NSW N205 cover?
Residue left by treating or disposing of industrial waste. The treatment or disposal operation defines the category. Coming from an industrial site isn't enough.
