    Clinical and related waste

NSW R100: within NSW or interstate; the listed hazardous-characteristic test still applies.

Clinical & related waste, from hospitals, clinics & surgeries, including sharps, syringes & dressings.

Is NSW R100 hazardous waste?

Not from the code alone. R100 marks a waste that may need tracking. Tracking under Part 4 needs a matching Schedule 1 waste description and a Part 3 hazardous characteristic. That test is separate from the NSW disposal classification, and the code gives no disposal class. Part 4 covers local and interstate movements.

Where tracking applies, enter R100 in the waste-code field of the IWTS Movement, with the description, quantity, parties and the receiver's Movement Authorisation. The approved system issues the Movement reference. NSW tracking exemptions still apply.

What does NSW R100 cover?

Clinical and related wastes. The NSW clinical-waste definition decides which healthcare streams count as related waste. The label alone names no material or treatment.
