New South Wales T140: check whether the catalogue covers whole tyres, large pieces or a separate local reporting threshold.
Is NSW T140 hazardous waste?
Not from the code alone. T140 marks a waste that may need tracking. Tracking under Part 4 needs a matching Schedule 1 waste description and a Part 3 hazardous characteristic. That test is separate from the NSW disposal classification, and the code gives no disposal class.
Local tyre reporting applies at 200 kg or more, or 20 tyres or more, through the separate IWTS tyre route. Enter T140 with the load description where requested. Interstate Part 4 tracking still needs the characteristic test.
Where Part 4 tracking applies, enter T140 in the IWTS Movement waste-code field. NSW tracking exemptions still apply.
What does NSW T140 cover?
Discarded tyres. The tyre description sets no quantity threshold for choosing this code. Local reporting quantities are a separate movement question.
