J100, Waste mineral oil.
New South Wales
Waste mineral oil
NSW J100: within NSW or interstate; the listed hazardous-characteristic test still applies.
Is NSW J100 hazardous waste?
Not from the code alone. J100 marks waste that may need tracking. Part 4 requires a matching Schedule 1 waste description and a Part 3 hazardous characteristic. That is a tracking test, not the NSW disposal classification, and the code gives no disposal class. Part 4 covers local and interstate movements.
Where Part 4 tracking applies, enter J100 in the waste-code field of the IWTS Movement, with the description, quantity, parties and the receiver's applicable Movement Authorisation. The approved system issues the Movement reference. The NSW tracking exemptions still apply.
What does NSW J100 cover?
Waste mineral oil that is no longer fit for its original purpose. The entry is the oil itself. Mixtures or emulsions of oil and water go under J120.

Is waste oil NSW J100 or J120?
| Code | When it fits |
|---|---|
| J100 | The mineral oil is waste and is no longer fit for its original intended use. |
| J120 | The oil or hydrocarbon is mixed or emulsified with water. |
Match both the waste description and the movement scope. The same code used elsewhere doesn't carry NSW's classification or tracking conditions.
