What does TCLP mean for hazardous waste codes?
TCLP means Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure, EPA Method 1311. It measures what a representative sample of the waste releases into an extract.
How do I decide a TCLP hazardous waste code?
Use the extract concentration in mg/L. Total content in mg/kg is a different measure, and it can't be converted into a TCLP result.
Manufactured gas plant waste is excluded from the toxicity characteristic under 261.24(a).
Where Table 1 footnote 3 applies, its measurement limit becomes the regulatory level.
If cresol isomers can't be measured separately, use D026 total cresol at 200 mg/L.
Which waste guides go with the TCLP hazardous waste codes?
Guides include Waste contaminated with toxic metals, Chromium-contaminated waste, Contaminated soil, Demolition debris, Waste lead pipe and Lead-based paint debris.
